"Walking past trees, I’d think — there’s a lot happening here, biochemically and physiologically, right in front of me,” Gustavo reflects. This sense of wonder eventually pushed him beyond physiology into plant biochemistry and molecular biology, where he earned his Ph.D. and completed multiple postdoctoral fellowships, including one at The Ohio State University. But even after completing his academic journey, Gustavo’s hunger for discovery hadn’t waned — it had evolved.

After two unsuccessful startup attempts, Gustavo co-founded INBIOAR — his third and most successful endeavor. What began as a bold idea backed by a family office fund and a newly graduated student, María Lucía Travaini, has grown into a 15-year-old biotech firm with global aspirations.

The core mission? To unlock the power of nature by screening native flora for bioactive compounds that can be used in crop protection. With a state-of-the-art discovery platform, INBIOAR transforms plant extracts into potential game-changing agricultural solutions.
