The Silicon Magazine shares the inspiring story of Elinor Stutz, who is on a mission to help, motivate, and inspire those who don’t know how to speak up by using questions to assert themselves diplomatically and, when necessary, negotiate a better outcome for what’s right and just. She advocates, ‘Never give up but find a better way!’
Stutz’s most riveting example is her near-death
experience, which stunned the entire medical staff and changed the course of
her life forever. Moreover, she is enjoying an extra 22 years of life to date,
for which she will be forever grateful.
The journey into the unknown guided her to the current
unique and collaborative spirit (the opposite of her highly competitive former years),
embracing community service.
In her words,
‘Our worst experiences are our gifts in disguise when
we are willing to learn from them.’
Stutz’s desire to address the ‘non-issue’ of
diversity, equity, and inclusion in corporate motivates her writing to help
readers advance their endeavors and desires. She describes her first book, Nice Girls DO Get the Sale: Relationship
Building that Gets Results, as ‘A corporate tell-all
with names changed to protect the guilty.’
The stories are almost mind-boggling. They reveal how she
rose to bypass the bigotry while simultaneously making friends with prospective
clientele. After the need to endure eleven jobs in eleven years due to her
embarrassing the men as a top sales producer, the book was written to teach
others how to rise above similar situations. In a remarkably short time, the
book became an International Bestseller and then Evergreen—among the classics! Stutz’s
purpose is to empower readers to stand up for what’s right to help change the
corporate environment as we know it today. Moreover, she seeks to enable
individuals to assert themselves for a more satisfying professional life
journey.
Expanding her desire to empower more people, Stutz’s
mission includes helping readers of the Smooth Sale
Blog advance their endeavors by publishing experiences and
insights from leaders in varying industries. Other entries include her experiences
emanating from her 11-year corporate sales career and three entrepreneurships.
Stutz’s motivation to help people stand up for what’s
right increased upon moving across the country and being invited to several
conferences. To her horror, people turned their backs on her as they spotted
‘an older female.’
Aghast at the idea that no one would speak to an older
female, this, too, gave more reason to ‘speak her mind’ via the blog while including
the underlying theme of community spirit work. Reckoning with disheartening
news from friends, peers, and publications, she uses the specifics to offer
suggestions on bypassing similar obstacles to encourage and share with readers
how to overcome the disparities in life.
Most of all, Stutz’s motivation and words continue to
inspire many. Prestigious entities have recognized her work since the
beginning. Her work is shared in many publications and media channels as it inspires
others to do their best by using a positive mindset with the attitude, ‘Yes, I
can!’
Moreover, she advises that there are times when one
must work alone to avoid the nasty commentary, including the advice to quit. Quitting
accomplishes nothing other than beating oneself up. She reminds us that even
Einstein worked in solitude to figure out his brilliant formulas that, years
later, were accepted by society.
Our mental mindset is everything and can almost
predict our future. Stutz advises that as one continues to encounter nastiness,
we should mentally adorn our well-oiled Super-person cape so that when the
darts are targeted at our backs, they will slide to the ground. Mindset is
everything to reach success, making It critical that we lift our determination
and spirit toward the sky above. Nothing is impossible when we commit ourselves
to doing what’s necessary to reach our desired success.
Stutz’s theme is, ‘We only have one life to live,
and our duty is to live it without regret.’
